PND was retained to design this project, comprising five
construction phases over a five-year period. Services included
field surveys, geotechnical investigations, easements and
rights-of-way acquisition, preliminary design scoping study,
systemwide hydraulic modeling, permitting, final design
and contract document preparation, bid phase assistance,
full-time contract administration and construction inspection.
Improvements included 2-million-gallon steel reservoir;
tank controls, instrumentation, coatings and cathodic protection;
2 miles of service road through deep muskeg and forested
terrain; 2.5 miles of 20” and 18” HDPE water
transmission main; 32,000 linear feet of ductile iron pipe
distribution main; 10,000 linear feet of water services;
55 fire hydrants, air release assemblies; three pressure-reducing
stations; and several highway crossings with bored encasements.
