The West Dock Causeway Bridge is a single-lane, torsionally-resistant steel box-girder bridge with a 700-foot-long, four-span main bridge and 80-foot-long single-span approach trestles at each end, for an overall length of 900 feet. Abutments for the main bridge, and both approach trestles, are supported on SPIN FIN® tipped steel piles with welded steel pile caps. In addition, each abutment is surrounded by an OPEN CELL® sheet pile structure to protect it from anticipated scour.
