The Governor's Exporter of the Year Award

PND received the 1992 Governor's Exporter of the Year Award for the successful completion of the "Ballyhoo" Unalaska Marine Center (UMC) facility. This new facility allows direct shipment of refrigerated containers with fresh frozen seafood to Japan reducing transit time from 22 to 9 days. The UMC dock has changed the way North Pacific seafood makes its way to market. The project also represents a successful partnership between private and public financing.
