This annual Associated General Contractors-Alaska competition recognizes Alaska's top construction projects. The Westward Seafoods Exhaust Stack Modifications project, for which PND provided design and construction management, won the Associated General Contractors of Alaska 2005 award in the $1 million - $5 million Vertical Construction category. The Dutch Harbor stack, constructed by West Construction Co., is 110 feet tall and 11 feet in diameter. It is six stacks in one – three for power generation and three for boiler exhaust – set upon a 20-foot-tall rigid platform anchored by four 24-inch-diameter piles driven to bedrock.
