Alaska Engineering Societies
Engineer of the Year

This annual award recognizes the state's top engineer, as voted upon by engineering societies across Alaska. Each society selects its own Engineer of the Year, who then competes against winners from colleague societies. The overall Engineer of the Year is announced at the annual Engineers Week Awards Banquet, held in conclusion of Engineers Week each February.

The 2003 Engineer of the Year is Alan B. Christopherson, PE, the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers' nominee, and PND's senior vice president. He was cited for his 28 years of engineering experience in Alaska and Russia, including extensive planning, design, project management and construction of marine, port and land structures of steel, concrete and timber.
