PND performed field investigations for and designed a 272 foot-by-50 foot dock with three breasting dolphins and five mooring dolphins. The dock consists of steel piles supporting steel pile caps, steel box girders and prestressed concrete deck. The dolphins are all con-nected with steel catwalks. All steel is galvanized. The dock has five high capacity fender units so that the dock plus the breasting dolphins provide a 456 foot breasting pier head. This pier head with the mooring dolphins will accommodate 75,000 ton-860 foot cruise ships. The dock has lights and a water system for serving ships in port.
